		<description><![CDATA[I&#039;m glad someone with some street creds lays it on the line regarding Squeak.  The current Squeak UI is just seriously fugly.  There&#039;s just no getting around that.  When you look at the beauty and tools that Dolphin offers, then it&#039;s hard to take Squeak seriously.

Beyond that though, Smalltalk itself has to evolve.  Traits (which Squeak has implemented) is a first step, but I always pictured something like Slate being the next generation in the Smalltalk family - something really, really dynamic.  Maybe not the prototypes, but at least multi-dispatch.

The good news is that Alan Kay has gotten funding for his NSF proposal and the ideas in ALBERT can push the ideas of Smalltalk into the future.

In the meantime, I hope something like wxSqueak can get some attraction.]]></description>
