    The 30th ESUG conference/summer-school will be held in Lille, France from 8 to 11 of July 2024.

    Early registration deadline: 15/04/2024

    Conference prices ESUG 2024 in Euros:

    • Early Registration Fee: 600€ (all days) / 200€ (per day)
    • Late Registration Fee: 1000€ (all days) / 300€ (per day)
    • Extra person to social dinner: 70€
    • Payment by bank transfer: free of charge
    • Payment by credit card: +6% fees
    • For late registrations we cannot ensure the availability of T-Shirts nor Social Event extra participants
    • : If the refund is requested during the early bird period all the fee (without charges) will be refunded. If it is requested after the early bird period is finished, the refund will be 50%

  • Call for students for Google Summer of Code

    Janko and Mariano who are co-ordinating the joint ESUG application to this year’s Google Summer of Code are now looking for students to apply for the thirty-five proposed projects. The process couldn’t be simpler: review the list of projects, and you can register your interest in projects with just one click once you’re registered. You can also contact the project mentors for more information.

    Note that this approach allows many students to register for each project, so if you want to improve your chances, make sure the project mentors can see why you would be the best choice for their project by editing your biography, and making sure that your contact information is up to date!

    You must register by 9th April, so get cracking!

    as announced at Lugano ESUG is putting in place new action to promote the use of smalltalk http://www.esug.org/promotionactions/publicationpromotion/

    ESUG offers 150 Euros for each international conference paper whose concepts involves an implementation in Smalltalk

    Rules
    • After notification of acceptance, one of the authors sends to the ESUG board the article, a CV, and a brief explanation of how Smalltalk was used
    • In case the ESUG board decides to support the promotion, the author has to send to ESUG after the camera-ready deadline a PDF of the article, where ESUG is referenced in the acknowledgment section, including a link to esug.org
    • During the presentation at the conference, the author must mention ESUG support
    • After the presentation at the conference the author sends to ESUG a PDF version of the slides, where there is a visible reference to ESUG (e.g. theESUG Logo). ESUG will put the slides on the ESUG website
    • The author can then trigger the payment by sending an e-Mail to the ESUG board
    • A maximum of 3 supported articles per year per institution is allowed

  • The First Smalltalk Conference In Argentina

    Below are some comments we got in the Argentine Smalltalk lists (first in Spanish and then in English, translated by Andres Valloud).
    It is very hard for me to find the right words to express how happy we are with the outcome of the conference, not only for the amount of people that came but also for their kindness and technical level of the presentations. Thanks to all.
