I have a Japanese friend who is very interested in promoting communication between people. He has been a teacher of hearing impaired in Japan for most of his life and is interested in not only communication with words, but also images, etc.
He is of an older generation and is just learning how to use email and the internet. I am trying to get him up to speed and hook him into the possibilities of using technology to facilitate communication. I stumbled on to Squeak and want to explore its use for communcation between people (hearing, hearing impaired, japanese, American, etc.).
Are there good resources or summaries of Squeak and its applications for this kind of thing written in Japanese (that non-techies can understand)?
Thank you.

Hi Eric,
There’s a very active Squeak community working in Japanese. You can check out their activities at the Squeak-JA mailing list. See this post in English for a bit more information.
Best of luck, Michael.
